Kids Can’s Out of School programs offer children the opportunities to continue their education outside of the classroom. Kids Can is a state-licensed child care program and Title XX payment is accepted. At each location, we provide a hot meal, physical activities, homework tutoring and expanded learning opportunities. Kids Can takes pride in supporting children’s academic pursuits, physical and mental health and enhancing positive adult relationships and role models.

MANDELA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Program: Kids Can is excited to be offering out of school programming for students and families of Nelson Mandela Elementary. This program serves scholars from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. Scholars enjoy a wide variety of activities each day including a warm meal, homework help, physical activities in the gym and on the playground, and access to our STEMsmart programming via exceptional community providers and activities developed by our highly skilled staff. Kids Can takes pride in supporting academics while increasing youth access to positive adult relationships.

This is a tremendous partnership with the Mandela teachers and leadership.  We will work closely to provide activities to engage and inspire children every day!

Schedule of Activities: Activities range from the arts, STEM activities, physical activities, tutoring and homework.

3:30 to 3:45 PM - Arrival & Attendance
3:45 to 4:00 PM - Snack
4:00 to 4:30 PM - Homework Help
4:30 to 5:30 PM - Enrichment Activities
5:30-6:00 PM - Dismissal.

Arts and crafts

Full Day Programming

Kids Can also provides full day programming for days where school is not in session. Scholars will engage in games, activities, crafts, and field trips to fill their days with fun and learning.
