Elisha Suttles - Family/Scholar Support Liaison
Elisha is an Omaha native, raised in North Omaha, attending King Science & Technology Magnet Middle School, and graduated from Omaha Northwest Magnet School. Elisha was involved in multiple extracurricular activities such as captain of the High Steppers Dance Team, served on Future Business Leaders of America, other honors programs, and Concert Choir.
Through her teenage years, into adulthood, Elisha learned that she was always the “go-to” person for giving advice, providing resources, and helping others navigate through life by finding their voice. This learned ability turned into Elisha having bigger dreams. Elisha developed the passion to serve the community through empowerment, advocacy and standing in the gaps for families by providing tools to help redefine their family dynamics and live life to their fullest potential. Elisha went to Bellevue University to obtain her master’s degree in clinical counseling with the focus of impacting and empowering family systems, starting with children.
Elisha is a mother of two beautiful and vibrant girls, Za'Riya, who is a scholar at Nelson Mandela and Zion who plans to be a future Meerkat.
Elisha's goals while serving at Nelson Mandela are to help bridge the gaps by expanding family resources and partnerships, develop family support systems, develop staff in-service training programs, and promote proactive steps towards every scholar’s advancement.
