Activity Calendars
Each calendar contains suggested activities to do for each calendar month. The activities were gathered from across the internet. The intent is to find new/exciting ways to engage with your child that are both fun AND educational! All credit for each activity goes to the original creators. Activities may be expired, so make sure to check that they are still available before trying them.
Submit answers to the reflection questions below after each activity to earn extracurricular engagement hours.

Instructions for Logging Engagement Hours
Any of the activities found in the calendars can be logged by Mandela families for extracurricular engagement hours.
Answer the questions from one of the Mantra categories listed below and include a summary of your scholar’s answers in the description box when you submit your hours.
Each activity counts for 1 hour of engagement per family.

Hope:

Strength:

Talk about a person in your family who exhibits strength. How do they show this quality?

Ask your scholar to describe a time they had to be strong at school.
Service:

Ask your scholar what it means to serve someone. How does it feel to complete an act of service?

Unity:

Peace:

Ask your scholar what makes them feel peaceful. Is there a certain place in your house they like to go to find peace?

Take three mindful breaths with your scholar, breathing in for 6 seconds and out for 6 seconds. Ask them how they feel when the breaths are complete.

Wisdom:
