When you join the Nelson Mandela Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC), your mission is to ensure high-quality early learning through effective management of daily operations, staff leadership, and implementation of curriculum and assessment systems, including Teaching Strategies GOLD.
Key Responsibilities:
● Own the Center Experience: Lead the daily rhythm of the center with confidence and care, shaping staffing, scheduling, enrollment, and program flow in a way that brings consistency, warmth, and high-quality early learning to life.
● People and Performance Leadership: Guide and support a diverse team through coaching, feedback, and ongoing development. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth where enthusiasm and initiative elevate the entire team.
● Shaping Learning and Growth: Use Teaching Strategies GOLD to track child progress and translate insights into clear, persuasive guidance that supports teachers and encourages meaningful instructional shifts.
● Family and Community Engagement: Build trust and connection with families through clear, empathetic communication and intentional engagement that encourages participation, alignment, and long-term partnership.
● Program Quality and Improvement: Shape program excellence by combining data, feedback, and observation with creative problem solving to address challenges and continuously elevate quality.
● Safety, Compliance, and Standards: Set and maintain a strong culture of safety and accountability while ensuring compliance with Nebraska DHHS Child Care Licensing regulations and all health and emergency preparedness standards.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
● Knowledge of Nebraska DHHS Child Care Licensing regulations.
● 3+ years of experience in early childhood education.
● Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a childcare or preschool setting (preferred).
● Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD® assessment system (preferred).
● Strong communicator who builds trust and influences others through clarity, empathy and confidence.
● Comfortable in fast paced environments with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead problem solving in real time.
