How to Apply

Application Steps

  1. Complete online application.
  2. Attend a mandatory informational meeting.
  3. Pick up and complete all required paperwork.
  4. Attend Kindergarten Round Up/Tour NME Campus.
  5. Schedule a parent interview.

Application Timeline

  • December: Online application open.
  • January: Mandatory informational meetings
  • February: Kindergarten Round Up, paperwork, parent interviews.
  • March: Interviews conclude. Applications reviewed.
  • April: Applicants contacted with their status in the enrollment process.
  • June/July: Selected scholars participate in Kindergarten Jump Start.
  • Mid-July: Accepted scholars welcomed at Acceptance Night.

Summer Programming

Kindergarten Jump Start

Selected scholars will participate in the full-day Kindergarten Jump Start program, which is Monday through Friday, 8:00-3:30 PM in June and July, at the Nelson Mandela Early Childhood Development Center. They have lessons in the morning and enrichment in the afternoons. They will visit the elementary school for breakfast, lunch, and selected enrichment activities to familiarize themselves with the school.
