Nelson Mandela Elementary (NME) is unique in many ways, and one of the most unique factors is its emphasis on family engagement. The Mandela team firmly supports this and the research that links scholar success with family engagement. Families are asked to complete and log 25 hours of engagement per school year (approximately 5 hours per term).

There are many ways to get involved at Nelson Mandela Elementary. Engagement hours fall under three categories: academic, community, and extracurricular. We believe scholars will be the most successful if families are engaged in all three categories.
