Kwin Kunkle - Curriculum Support
After wrapping up her tenth year in Omaha Public Schools, Kwin is excited to be a part of the Nelson Mandela Team. Kwin is an Omaha native, graduating from Central High School in 2003. She completed her Bachelors of Science with a focus in Elementary Education at Creighton University in 2007 and her Masters in Reading with English as a Second Language endorsement at Concordia University in 2010.
Kwin has a particular interest in childhood wellness; reaching the whole child is her mission in teaching. She became a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher in 2013 and studied Mindfulness Fundamentals and Curriculum Training with Mindful Schools in 2015. Her varied educational experiences really transformed her teaching. This passion led her to develop a curriculum dedicated to childhood wellness in education. In addition to the classroom, Kwin has taught wellness classes with the Neighborhood Offshore, Omaha Girls Rock, Omaha Outward Bound, Girl Scouts of Nebraska, and University of Nebraska Omaha.
Kwin is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the unique learning environment at Mandela and looks forward to getting to know the scholars, their families, and the school community!
