Ryan Margheim - Teacher
Ryan Margheim was born in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota after moving there in the second grade. Seeking a faster pace of life, he moved to North Carolina in 1999 to attend a small liberal arts school called Elon University. Ryan majored in technical theatre and in time became a professional stage manager, working at theatres across the east coast. He eventually settled in Charlotte, and took a position at the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, located in ImaginOn, a partnership with the Children’s Library, where he discovered his passion for working with children and children’s literature.
Ryan decided to go back to school to become an elementary teacher to make a difference in the lives of children. He took an opportunity to move to Omaha, where he would be much closer to his family, and where he would finally be able to find high quality, squeaky cheese curds. In the Spring of 2017, after finishing his degree long-distance, Ryan graduated with high honors from Guilford College with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and a minor in English. Calling Omaha home since August 2015, Ryan loves everything the city has to offer. When he isn't in the classroom, he enjoys his three dogs, cooking, trying out the city’s vibrant restaurant scene, and organizing his office supplies.
