Shannon Martinez - Teacher
Shannon Martinez comes from a military family and moved back to the Omaha area in 2021 after her husband retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. She grew up in Colorado and has taught in Colorado, Nebraska, Maryland, and Louisiana during her 20+ years of teaching. She received her Bachelor's degree in Geography/Environmental Sciences and Elementary Education from the University of Colorado. She also received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. When she is not fulfilling her passion for teaching, she enjoys reading, gardening, being creative, watching her daughter Aurora play competitive soccer, and having dance parties with her son Oliver. She loves being a part of the Nelson Mandela team!
